  • The H\u00e9rault d\u00e9partement<\/strong>: H\u00e9rault is one of the thirteen d\u00e9partements of the Occitanie region, and takes its name from the coastal river that flows through it. The inhabitants are H\u00e9raultais. Its prefecture is Montpellier.
    The community covers an area of 6,224 km2 and in 2017 was home to almost 1,145,000 H\u00e9rault residents. The department’s prefecture is Montpellier, with the sub-prefectures of B\u00e9ziers and Lod\u00e8ve. H\u00e9rault comprises 25 cantons, 16 intercommunalit\u00e9s and 342 communes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
